The Initiative for Sustainable Energy (ISE) announced Seed Research Awards for 2024-25. This represents a total investment of over $200,000 by Brown University in early-stage innovative faculty research with the potential to attract significant external funding, and have a broad impact in the area of sustainable energy.

1. Category 1 (3 or more faculty investigators):

Nucleation, Growth Mechanisms, and Mechanics of Li-Metal Dendrites in Solid State Battery Electrolytes

Investigating Mineralogical, Geochemical, and Thermodynamic Mechanisms Governing Lithium Enrichment in Lake Clay Deposits and Subsequent Release into Lithium-Rich Brine-Aquifer Systems
